Academy has its own badge functionality and also integrates with Credly Acclaim to award badges upon program completion.

Credly’s digital badging platform enables you to design and issue badges, includes enterprise-class functionality to scale and manage programs, and enhanced analytics to measure success.

Read more about integrating with Credly Acclaim here.

When creating a new badge in Academy, you have the option to link it to a Credly Acclaim badge. If you link an Academy badge to a Credly Acclaim badge, then both badges will be awarded to the learner on completion of a program.

Adding a badge to a program

To add a badge to your program you will need to:

  • Edit the Program
  • Go to Program Settings,
  • Open the Badges tab,
  • Choose Add Badge
  • Create a new badge, or select from the available created badges
  • Choose when the badge should be awarded to participants:
    • Manually (an administrator will need to award the badge to a participant manually)
    • Completion of the Program (as soon as all tasks and activities in the program are complete, the badge will be issued automatically to the participant)

This gif shows the process for adding a badge to a course. Within program over view of a course, the admin user selects the 'badges' sub-heading. A pop-up window appears with pre-loaded badges for selecting. The admin user navigates to the search bar and types in the course name. The associated badge is displayed as an incon, alongside an 'add to program' button. This button is selected and the badge is added to the program. This badge is now displayed within the 'badge' subheading window.

Manually awarding a badge to a participant

To manually award badges to participants:

  • Go to the Class List
  • Open the participant’s profile
  • Access the “Badge” tab
  • Issue the badge.

This screenshot shows the profile of a learner, with the 'badge' tab highlighted. There is an icon of the course badge greyed out to indicate the learner has not yet achieved this badge. Below the badge there is a button hightlighted that says 'issue badge' to indicate that the admin user can use this process to manually award badges for learners.
