Accessing Completed Tasks and Assessments

Tasks and assessments available for marking can be found in Actions Home in the left hand collapsible panel. Here, you can find:

  • Tasks to Review
  • Assessments to Review

How to Mark a Task

Click on the Tasks to Review tab on the left, which will show a list of all tasks that are ready for review. Using the tabs highlighted below, you can view:

  • Ready for Review – submitted tasks that have not yet been marked
  • Awaiting Resubmission – tasks that have been marked as unsuccessful and are awaiting resubmission by the learner
  • Complete – tasks that have previously been marked

Click View to open the task you wish to review.

In this view, you can see the learner's response. Depending on the type of task, this may include text responses or uploaded files.

Select the relevant outcome for the assessment. Please note, the completion task statuses may differ based on the grading structure selected when the task was created.

If the task was not successfully completed, choose a status:

  • Not Yet Successful – the task will be sent back to the learner for resubmission
  • Unsuccessful – the task will be marked as not completed, there is no option for resubmission

There is space for you to provide written feedback on the task for the learner, and can also attach feedback if required.

Once an outcome has been assigned and feedback has been recorded, you will be able to submit the feedback. Depending on the settings for the task, this feedback is either sent to the learner immediately, or accessible once released.

How to Mark an Assessment

Click on the Assessments to Review tab on the left, which will show a list of all assessments that are ready for review. Using the tabs highlighted below, you can view:

  • Ready for Review – submitted assessments that have not yet been marked
  • Awaiting Reattempt – assessments that have been marked as unsuccessful and are awaiting a reattempt by the learner
  • Complete – assessments that have previously been marked

Click View to open the the task you wish to review.

In this view, you can see the learner's response. If there are multiple-choice quiz questions in the assessment, these are marked automatically by the system.

For each question, you can see the question prompt, the learner's response and any marking criteria supplied. Add the learner's mark and provide written feedback, before saving feedback.

After marking each question, you will be taken to the full transcript. The overall mark and assessment outcome will be populated based on the marks for each question.

There is space for you to provide overall written feedback for the learner, and can also attach feedback if required. Once feedback has been recorded, you will be able to submit the feedback. Depending on the settings for the task, this feedback is either sent to the learner immediately, or accessible once released.

If the learner did not successfully complete the assessments and multiple attempts are allowed, the assessment will be sent to the learner to attempt again. You can view which learners need to reattempt their assessment under the Awaiting Reattempt tab.
